Double J Ranch originally started at the family residence in Arkansas. The Alexander, Arkansas farm was the first horse operation acquired by Double J Ranch. It was purchased in the late 1990’s to allow both Ramona and JJ to enjoy at least some of the horses at home, as previously their horses had been kept at boarding facilities or with trainers. The original Arkansas facility has since been sold and the entire operation now resides in Texas.
The Whitesboro, Texas farm was the second equestrian property acquired by Double J Ranch. The property, dubbed Double J Ranch-West, is JJ's main residence. It was acquired to keep, both an arm of the Double J operation close to the main circuit of key shows in North Texas and Oklahoma, in addition to allowing JJ to manage the day to day training and care of the show horses from her own “backyard”.
Purchased in 2009, the property's equestrian facilities have been extensively renovated turning it into an outstanding facility for breeding, training and showing. Double J Ranch-West is the residence for most of the “ riding show team” as well as up-and-coming prospects in training. ARC Shotgun and Lottashineycash, Double J Ranch’s main performance breeding stallions reside at the Whitesboro facility, as well.
In 2010 an additional facility, literally right down the road, was established to manage and house the main Halter Horses including Double J's Halter Stallion Enquest and other stallions in residence, including Casino Cool.
